📖 How to Play 13-Card Indian Rummy

🎮 Step-by-Step: How a Turn Works

Step 1: Draw a Card

At the start of your turn, click either the Closed Deck (face-down draw pile) or Open Deck (face-up top discard) to draw 1 card. Hand becomes 14 cards.

Step 2: Group & Arrange

Tap cards to select them (they elevate with a gold outline), then click 📁 Group to move them into a meld slot. Or click 🔀 Sort to arrange suits and ranks automatically.

Step 3: Discard to End Turn

Select 1 surplus/deadwood card from your hand and drag/click the red 🗑️ Discard Slot (or Open Deck). Hand returns to 13 cards and the Bot takes its turn.

Step 4: Declare to Win!

Once your 13 cards form valid melds, drag your 14th card into the golden 🏁 Finish Slot (or click 🏆 Declare) to show your hand and win the round!

🏆 Winning Hand Requirements (The 2 Golden Rules)

To make a valid show, your 13 cards must be arranged into groups of $\ge 3$ cards satisfying:

🥇 1. First Life (Pure Sequence) — MANDATORY:
At least ONE sequence of 3 or more consecutive cards of the SAME suit with NO jokers used as wildcards.

Valid Pure Runs: 4♥ - 5♥ - 6♥ | 10♠ - J♠ - Q♠ - K♠ | Q♣ - K♣ - A♣ | A♦ - 2♦ - 3♦
🥈 2. Second Life (Second Sequence) — MANDATORY:
At least ONE additional sequence of 3 or more consecutive cards. This can be Pure OR Impure (using Printed or Wild Jokers to fill missing ranks).

Valid Impure Runs: 3♦ - PJ(Joker) - 5♦ | 8♠ - 5♣(Wild 5) - 10♠ - J♠
🎴 3. Remaining Cards (Sets or Sequences):
The rest of your cards must form valid Sets (3 or 4 cards of the SAME rank with DIFFERENT suits) or additional Sequences.

Valid Sets: 9♥ - 9♦ - 9♠ | K♥ - K♦ - K♠ - PJ | 7♠ - 7♦ - 5♣(Wild 5)
⚠️ Duplicate suits are NOT allowed in sets (e.g. 7♥ - 7♥ - 7♦ is INVALID).

🃏 Understanding Jokers & Cut Card

Printed Jokers (PJ): 2 printed jokers in the shoe that can substitute for any card in impure sequences and sets.
Wild Joker (Cut Card): One random card cut at the start of each round and tucked under the closed deck. All cards matching its rank across all suits become Wild Jokers!
Natural Role: If a card is a Wild Joker (e.g. 5♠), using it in its natural run (4♠-5♠-6♠) still counts as a Pure Sequence!

⚙️ Special Features & Controls

↩️ Undo Discard: Made a mistake? Click Undo (1 Free use per round, then via Rewarded Ads) to pull your discarded card back immediately!
⏱️ 30-Second Turn Timer: If the timer runs out, the game automatically draws and auto-discards your highest-penalty unmelded card to keep the game moving.
🏳️ Drop / Fold: If you receive an unplayable hand, click Drop before drawing to fold with a reduced penalty:
- First Drop (Turn 1): 20 points penalty.
- Middle Drop (Turn 2+): 40 points penalty.
🎨 Table Themes: Open the Themes menu in the header to customize your felt with Royal Velvet, Neon Nights, or Gold Classic!
💰 Chip Bankroll: Win chips from the pot minus a 5% virtual house rake. Out of chips? Click 📺 +2,500 to get free chips!

🔢 Penalty Points System

Winner: 0 penalty points (takes the pot).
Face Cards (A, K, Q, J) & 10: 10 points each.
Number Cards (2..9): Face value (e.g. 7 = 7 pts).
Jokers: 0 points.
No Pure Sequence: If the loser has no Pure Sequence, all cards in hand count (capped at 80 pts).
Wrong Show Penalty: Declaring with an invalid hand incurs the maximum 80 points penalty!
